AC front Vents oscillating problem

Its easy to remove the vent unit and take a look at the mechanisms to make sure they are not stuck. Use your fingers to pull off the lowest module on the console and then its just a few screws to take out the vent assembly and stereo head unit.

I noticed the recent reduced sweep on my 2005 LS430. Reading all the info here now, this oscillation looks like Engineering Overkill.
Great when it works. Needs specialized knowledge to fix, when it does break.

I know old thread but I'm in need of some knowledge. My driver side vent has just stopped working. I know all the temp changes for swing and blah blah. Something is broke or stuck. I did just notice that sound when vent oscillate is not nearly a loud as it used to be when drive vent worked. So possible something I had coming without knowing, thought they were a little loud before!! LOL. Anyone have good info on a fix or inspection on mechanisms in there. Many Thanks in advance to anyone.
