Buying a LS 430 on the net
A couple of months ago I stopped by, as I noticed so many Lexi there, I just wanted to feel them out and find out about the place. A friend had mentioned that he had heard nothing but good things about them and the quality of the cars there. (I hadn't bought a used car in MANY years, but I'd had enough of my 02 ES trans hesitations, and was sort of considering moving up.)
I spoke to a guy there who told me that prices are firm and non-negotiable. He said they are associated with 15 area banks; all cars are right off lease; and they move them off to auction if unsold in certain time frame. I said "What if I pay cash, would I get a discount then ?" He replied "No", as those same banks would actually prefer that you finance through them.
Then, when I later went back there to test drive and buy the LS430, I found that, after mentioning a few things like some wear on the front two tires etc., they came down $1k, gave me a set of 4 new Continental tires, and a new battery. I bought the car.
The next day, when talking to a friend, he mentioned that they did that because it was the last day of the month. I've since seen on the net that that is indeed true - the best time to shop for a car is the last weekend of the month.
So, to answer your question, "Yes" they are pretty firm, but "Yes" they might flex.

I bought my car on Ebay 3 years ago, 2002 LS430 paid a very good price back then $32000 shipping included. The car had 59000 miles I would say in a good condition, however the paint had lots of tiny chips on the front that were touched up. If I have to do it again I will definitly check the car personally, and the person that I have bought from has an excellent reputation and satsified customers but my advice to you, if you find the right deal go check the car personally, the pictures of the car you see wont do it.
