Yeah, I know it's not the 430 and it isn't on this thread but it does show the potential...

Edit to add: John, do you still think 200K's much of a reach for these cars??? Linky...

And check this out from late last year... found this on the drivetofive.com website last week. Seems the Million mile Lexus is even closer now...
OK, not a 430 but if an LS400 can do this then certainly an LS430 can.

That in itself is quite impressive. My '05 is at 56K, but we've only put about 2200 miles on it since last July, when I got the oil changed the last time.

I'm almost at 185,000 already. At this rate, I'll be hitting 200K in May. I thought I wouldn't see 200K until July.

Hi
Just picked up a 2004 with 19,500 miles. One owner, who at 84 years of age purchased the car new and paid $180,000AUD......now that is what I call a man who is very optimistic!!

I have had the car about 10 days, just over 160 miles driven by me......car is amazing, so quiet and smooth. First time I drove it, I got out and forgot to turn the engine off.....could not hear it!!

Question, car has not had timing belt done........given age should I be doing this now?

Lexus recommends replacing the timing belt every 90,000 miles or 108 months, whichever comes first. In your case, the timing belt has exceeded the age limit. Due to the infrequent use (19,500 miles), I would be concerned with the pressure points where the timing belt is formed to the pulleys and may become hardened and possibly "dented". All that being said, I do not think that you have an emergency on your hand, but I would say that the timing belt should definitely be replaced before it reaches the 90,000 miles mark.

Hello

Thanks for responding to my post.....my first. Will book car in at the dealship where it was originally purchased over the next few weeks to have belt changed. I imagine that the water pump should be given the low mileage.
Been quoted $850, supply and fit for the belt and tensioners. Will clarify with dealership as to what they will be replacing for that price.....cheaper than the TB on my Alfa GTA, $2000!

I will drop the oil over the weekend all going well, 5-30 SAE Mobil 1. Not certain what deals use.

I have the same car with 67K on it now. I purchased it in Houston (similar market) two years ago for $10k.

I hope you got a receipt for a timing belt replacement as it is now 6 years overdue. It is an interference engine so it MUST be done or you are risking a total engine destruction. Replacement engines are available for $2000 but you will still have the installation costs and down time.

Mine was not done and the car cost me $1400 more than I thought it had.

What color combo? You can research the vehicles history at https://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/ Simply create an account and then add your LS by VIN and check the service records, if any.
