I have a 2002 Silver LS430 Ultra Lux, black leather and cherry wood. Pristine condition...am thinking of putting in a K&N air filter. Anyone have any thoughts?

I had another 02 just like this one...until some guy in a pick up ran a red light, hit me, and totalled the LS430. I found a replacement just like it ( 24,500 miles, and certified). The new (replacement) 2002 LS430 doesn't get quit as good fuel mileage as the prior one...don't know why...I am on the wheels and tires from the prior LS ( the prior had factory chromes and new tires...they weren't damaged, and insurance co. let me keep them)

Maybe K&N will improve fuel mileage.

 

I'd stray away from any intake mods, incl a high-flow airfilter. The existing Lexus filter has been optimized to balance fuel economy with performance. I don't think it will affect the warranty, but probably not worth it.
