For what its worth...

My air suspension rides so great it's why I got a UL. Smooths out expansion joints in the road like a dream. Only 37,000 mi on her and an extended warranty 5/60,000 will give me peace of mind as I am only doing 10,000 mi a year.

Just purchased a 2004 UL with 34k and having right front sensor replaced. Not acceptable in my book for a component to fail at this mileage

I bought a new UL in '01. Sold it to my brother several years ago. It has 90k mi. and rides like dream. No issues at all with the air suspension.

Recently purchased an '04 UL with 49k. So far so good!

Having a broken sensor is better than replacing the full air suspension

Very glad this thread is still useful for researching your ULs with Air. From the poll results, it seems to lean towards "No problem, rides like a dream" for most folks but definitely a concern for the few that have had issues.

I have sold both my ULs and did have some bit of Harsh ride on my 04 but it was due to the 30 series tires and 20 inch wheels that were slightly bent.

Thanks
Mike

Damn, that's pretty low for a daily You must really drive in at an angle for any driveways with dip

Well, after having a ride height sensor replaced two weeks ago, turns out my right front shock is toast at 36k miles. Approximately $1200 to replace.

As I plan to keep this vehicle a long time, I am biting the bullet and have all four corners replaced with OE struts/springs. I have gone with HKS coilovers in the past, but the roads up here in the Northeast suck and are getting worse, so going to stick with the stock suspension components.

My only concern about getting a 430 with the UL package was the air suspension, and sadly, my suspicions turned out to be correct. I'm taking care of it though!

Absolutely love the car otherwise, and I'll be much happier not having to worry about another $1200 shock or $300 sensor going bad as time goes on.

So what is everyone doing with the pulled out air suspension? Joeydingo, if only the front right is bad, are you holding on to the rest of it? How about the sensors? Gotta be a market on this board for those components

2001 UL (european spec -> President) with 152K mls on the clock. Zero problems, the only thing is that the car seems to lean to the right (about 6/8 of an inch).

But it shows no wear-signs on the shocks or uneven wear on the tires.

With the next service in June i'll have the dealer take a look at it. Might be that the hight-sensors need some adjusting. We'll find out in about a month.

Well, I sure would be willing to sell the three good shocks (only 36k on them) and the four sensors (one brand new). I checked EBay completed listings and see one guy put a rear shock on there with a starting bid of $300 and got no bids. No history of selling prices on these components I can find other than that.

Anyone interested????

Default Low mile example

I was going to some notes I had on a Certified Lexus I considered buying last year. I researched the history and found that this car 2004 LS430 UL has a leaking shock before the 50k mark, less than 4 years old.

Looks like it was the Right Rear.

Just for reference, I sold my 2 good front air shocks for $500. They had 62k miles on them.
