ok, so for 06 they have the s350? that's so stupid.... why would they do it here in the US..... keep it all LWB and s430 as minimal man...... there are better ways to have more s class on the road than snapping a stupid v6 on such a big car

If at possible sit tight for the 2007 LS 460 this fall. You will kick yourself if you don't!

Will too late now. I just sign my paper on a 2006 Mercury/Black LS430 with Sport & Modern luxury package. With the discount I'm getting of $8000 off MSRP. I think its a steal I won't regret, since its gonna be for my wife and she obsolutely love it at this point.

Good choice.

Not baggin on MB, as my wifey drives one, but I think you've made the better choice.

My wife is already leaning towards a Lexus as her next vehicle.

My wife loves MBs, so we went to drive an S500 when she was looking to replace the CLK 430 with something more baby-friendly. I was all prepared to keep my mouth shut and let her get another MB if she wanted (I am not a fan of late-model MBs -- I think MB is living on a myth from years ago whe n their cars were actually good). Anyway, we drove a couple of S500s and she was VERY disappointed in how unimpressive they were -- drove like a freaking boat and just felt like an Oldsmobile overall. I think I aged 10 years just on the test drive. I was thrilled that she no longer had any interest in a MB sedan after driving the S. Frankly, I can't imagine how someone can do a comparison drive of the LS430 and S500 (or S430 or S350) and then seriously consider buying the MB. Then again, as someone mentioned, I guess that was why the S won last place and the LS won first place when compared alongside a bunch of luxury cars a couple years back....

S430 (the last gen) couldn't even beat out the LS 400 (not 430 but 400!) in reviews. That is why, IMO, LS 430>S430. The S430 has finished pretty much dead last in all comparos

it's kinda hard i think coz' to most the s500 would be quite a bit higher than s430

lexus used s430 in their driving event as well (maybe intentionally? hhaha)

I recently read a maganize in the book store (cannot remember which one it was) but anyway it said LS430 can only be compared to S430, not S500 (and the S430 won).

I know this is the LS430 forum and I own a LS430 too but I'd definitely trade it for the same year/condition S430 if they cost the same.

Though it is just based on one person but read this post from a guy who switched from 2005 LS430 to 2006 S430.

I currently own a SL500 too and if we take out the fact that MB has so many little electronic problems (stating the obvious here ), MB is a much much much better car than Lexus, at least up to now.

Not aware of the comparison you mentioned, but I know as a fact the LS430 beats the S class in probably >90 % of the comparisons that exist anywhere on anything, whether car mag comparisons or quality/reliability surveys, overall the LS is a far superior car.

Sorry but i switched from a S430 to the LS and it doesnt compare. MB isnt a much better car than Lexus, the only advantage they have is the name and handling.

You made a good choice. The V6 in the S350 makes for a week full-size luxury car that's supposed to make a statement. The LS430 has more power than the S500...
