Yes, No issue as long you understand and on the same page with me. Good luck, let me know how it goes.

Finally got time to get the pictures, used my phone so it's a little blurry. Still see everthing ok, hope this will help everybody.

Default lexus link disable

I found this on just ask by a lexus mechanic. He talks of crisscrossing one set only and leaveing the others disconnected. I looked at wiring diagram and found that their is one plug with only 2 wires yellow and black that is for left speaker and needs to be connected to the other plug that matches the yellow and the black. I connected those only and have a left rear speaker and no annoying lexus link system errorhttp://www.justanswer.com/questions/...us-link-system

Default Link System Error Message

I contacted my local dealer about the error message, and Lexus will no longer pay for the fix. The parts will need to be ordered and the cost is around $200.

Have you had any issues since crossing those wires?

I just did mine and no annoying voice! It just makes me a little nervous crossing connections...

Default Link System Error Message

I was also nervous about crossing the wires (01 LS430 UL), but decided to try it anyway. I found the connections as pictured, and disconnected both sides. I checked the radio operation and found the left rear speaker not working as expected. I then connected the outter male connector (closest to the fender) to the inner female connector. I left the other two disconnected. The left rear speaker works again, and there is no more error message. Everything seems to work fine as is, so I'm going to leave the open connections alone.

Default Switching connectors

My 2002 LS430 has these connectors but they cannot be switched in that manner. There is a sex problem with the halves. If I cross the connectors they will not mate, they are the same sex. I could connect the upper left to the upper right and the lower left to the lower right. Is this what others have seen in trying to make this mod?

I bought an '02 in January and the prior owner had not had the Lexus Link disconnected. I called the Lexus 800 number and described the issue. They called back in 2 days and authorized the repair for no charge. The dealer performed the removal at no charge. They did not have a new sunglass holder, so I still have the buttons. It is ok, it was nice to get rid of the voice.

Well I disconnected the plug on the left and still got the message then the one on the right and the message went away. I left them both disconnected and everything seems fine, no speaker problems etc.

Great posting. So glad to be rid of the annoying voice error, reminded me of my ex-wife always in error mode.
Thanks Bdragon007

Default Thanks, I just used this thread to disable the Lexus Link message

I just want to thank the CL board for helping me with this issue. I Have a 2003 LS430UL, I disconnected both connectors and then re-connected the male and female connectors closest to the rear of the car. The two connectors toward the front of the car i left disconnected. Now if I could just figure out how to adapt the cradle in the arm rest (it was original and purchased with the car) to accept an Iphone, I'd be living large!
