They were covered. The second fuel pump failure required Lexus Roadside Assistanc which was covered but required 4 hours for AAA to get there.

Default 2002 LS 430 70K miles, extended warranty question

I've read the threads on extended warranties and they are a little dated. I just purchased a 2002 LS 430 with 70K miles. Very clean and in good condition. Lexus confirmed all required maintenance was done per their records. I put about 20K miles/year on a car with my daily commute. Lexus quoted $4k to get an additional 60K miles/60 months for full coverage. Only reason I'd buy it is for the coverage on the electronics. I've checked around and I haven't found anyone that provides a similiar plan at a more reasonable cost.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

Sounds like an after market warranty by the terms of coverage, which seems very high, especially since its after market.

Your better off putting that money in a savings account somewhere, and watching it grow in the next 4 years.

If it is in the warranty period 4/50 then you can get an extended thru Toyota (genuine LEx warranty) for around $1600. 3/75 or 5/100 extended for a little more thru Toyota of Greenfield? MA.
