Default Moving vents not moving in LS430

The AC vents will not move in my 01 LS430. I can get then to sway a little bit by gently pushing on them but then they stop, like the motor is stuck. Any ideas before I take it to the stealer?

They don't always move. They are computerized and only move when the car reaches a temperature equilibrium. Also, there is an "on off" control for them.

I know there is the on/off switch... I didn't know they only operated after equilibrium. I'll check it out again.

Truthfully, I turn mine off. Yeah, it's a neat "gee whiz" thing to turn on to impress your friends, but frankly I like to set the air direction to where I want it and not have it intermittently blowing on me then not etc etc.

I am with you on shutting them off now. I had them in my '86 Mazda 626 5-door too and they were initially fun to have waving back and forth then they did begin to irritate me to the point of shutting them off. The button on the 626 was right at the vents, easy to find. The LS's control is buried in the climate control section, not as easy to find at first glance. I do find them interesting when they focus just on me when I am driving alone and then return fully to spray both seats when there is someone in the passenger seat too.

Cool

Lexus has replaced my vents twice and oiled them once to fix an ongoing problem. The vents will simply stop moving all of the sudden. Very annoying problem. If you can't fix it, you might want to see the dealer...
