Question LS430 Climate Control Seats

I'm extremely happy with my recent purchase . But I'm somewhat disappointed with the "climate control seats" considering the engineering (and accompanying price tag) associated with this option. I find that the cooling effect is hardly noticeable. I have yet to experience their heating capability.

Any other opinions on this?

Its not supposed to freeze your back. But your back will not sweat/burn in the sun anymore.

The coolers are subtle but effective - I come out of the gym hot and sweaty (even after a shower) to a hot car and the seats cool me down within a couple of minutes.

The heaters also take a little time to come on - assume 3-5 minutes before you're really toasty.

My old BMW X5 seat heaters took a while too.

if you feel nothing after 10 minutes you've got a problem that needs attention. Or the car does

The heater in my friends Benz takes about 25secs till you feel it... 40secs and its burning.

Given Mercedes record on reliability the heat is probably from the electrics in the power seats short -circuiting. I hear that can generate a lot of heat pretty quickly.

Hahahahaha, I’m not going to tell everyone that the lifters in the engine failed miserably and the dealership doesn’t know how to fix it anymore after it sat there for 2 weeks, all at 1,500 miles (possibly less, but he didn’t know about it till I pointed out that its not supposed to sound like that.)
