Question 2006 Lexus

Just some of my thoughts over the past six months. I have always told anyone who asked to wait for the new model or design. I waited for the 04 rather then buy the 03. I spend more money but I am very happy. It seems like I waited my whole life since this is my first truly luxury car not counting a Lincoln or Caddy. I just cannot explain the degree of excellence to people. I know I couldn't have waited for a 2006. I intend to buy no other American cars. I also will move my three children in that direction. The 2006 is going to be such a change that it might very well be like that of the first year of Ford Taurus love it or hate it. It took some time for them to become popular. We have already read pros and cons on the 04 changes and they are pretty mild.Wait for this forum to light up as we see the real 2005s and 2006s. Happy 04 to all. Larry

Will the new car be an '05 or an '06. It's not clear to me.

Most likely a 06, possibly available in late 05.

Wait a minute...Isn't the '04 LS the new design? Or is it just a facelift? I'm confused. So they are going to bring out a new LS in 2006?
Someone please help me out!
Thanks!

The new 04 LS just a facelift, new redesigned LS to be expected in 2 years, that's what I'm looking forward to.

I believe the next redesign will happen in '07 available in the fall of '06. Lexus redesigns the LS every 6 years (95, '01).

With the exception this time around. Lexus is going on a new design direction with the LF-S concept, and the first release in 2005 (as an '06 release) is the GS. Close behind the 2006 GS will be the redesigned LS in early 2006 as a MY '07 release. And the list goes on with the IS and LX also slated for about the same time frame as the LS redo.

So if what you're saying is true then it's safe for me to get the LX.

Yes I say get the LX, I'm getting mine this weekend its an 00' from a good friend. Over on the LX forum rumor has it that the new LX will be based on the Sequoia (which I do not like). So I'd say your safe unless you really really like the design of the Sequoia. Again though its all speculation, so who really knows. I like the current body of the LX so theres no scense in me waiting to see the redesign.

I thought that they were gonna make a Lexus version of the Sequioa which is the VX470. I heard that last fall. It's for those who want something between the LX and GX. I don't hate the Sequioa's design, but I think it's too big. I wish that some cars would never redisgn(e.g. Land Cruiser/LX470, GS) because they already have good designs. I hope that it's nothing that I'm gonna hate!
Happy New Year!

Javed:

The "new" LX will be bigger than the current. If based on the Sequoia, it will be only in terms of SIZE and not in looks. And since the Sequoia is bigger than the LC/LX, that should tell you that the VX470 (if that is the correct designation) should be BIGGER than anything currently available in the Lexus line.

Bluestar,
Thanks for the information. I think I can deal with a bigger LX. I just want the LX to have certain features like the Parking Sonar, Power Rear hatch, More HP, etc.
Milla,
Have you considered the Toyota Sienna XLE LIMITED AWD? It is a great vehicle and has a lot of the features of the LX and a few other goodies. You just loose the Bluetooth. But it also shares some equipment with the LS/RX. If you want more info there are some really kind folks at www.SiennaClub.org. All that can be offered in an LX for $60K can be offered on the Sienna for about $42K. I got mine for about $40K(including all the fees).
Good Luck with your purchase!

Isn't the Sienna a Mini Van? No offense but no thank you.
Well it looks like I have to wait another week for my LX my girlfriend and her husban decided to stay an extra week on their vacation, so I wait.

This is off topic but I hope you're a female.

BTW I also believe Lexus will stick to their usual 6-year redesign cycle for the LS and comes out with a new LS as an '07 model.
