Default Looking to DIY upper control arms, any tips?

I've got a set of mevotech supremes that I'm planning on installing on my car (2001 non-UL with sport suspension), does anyone have advice on DIY'ing this without having to remove the struts? I'm new to this (only did brake changes and oil before) so any detailed help or explanations would be greatly appreciated. Specific questions I have: when I break free the upper ball joint, will I need to support the rest of the spindle, or tie it to something with zip ties? Also for installing this new part, do I reuse the cotter pin or replace with the new one provided by mevotech?

Also tool-wise, will regular socket on a torque wrench/breaker bar/ratchet work or would I need something specialized for such a tight space?

Thank you!

I've actually been using your post as reference preparing for this, my main issue currently is I can only jack the car up on one side at a time as my floor jack doesn't reach far enough to use the central jacking point. Would the process still be about the same regardless of that? Also, I was going to measure the distance from the center of the wheel to the wheel arch before jacking it and then jack the hub up to that same measured distance before torquing the bolts, would that be sufficient?

I also don't know how much of a complication the sport suspension adds because it seems to ride about an inch or two lower than a regular one.

I did that exact tutorial by jacking up one side at a time so no worries there. You don't not need to cycle the suspension or anything of that nature just throw the arms on tq all the bolts to proper spec. I had to cycle my suspension due to all the aftermarket arms bushings etc my vehicle had it was called for by figs engineering. The sport suspension will not have add complications same as normal 430.
