If all those other filters are garbage why can people in 3rd world countries keep the cars running with minimal oil changes sometimes its not even changed.
I posted pictures I personally cut open and showed the length of the media surface (there is not a scientific basis for using cellulose over paper filtration media; only surface area). I also supplied a link of a gentleman over on a Toyota forum who cut open a dozen filters all proving the D3 filter was far and away the superior filter.

at walmart the last # is a 1 and not a 3
would that still be the right one?
I use oem and dinosaur oil I believe, but it might be synthetic blend
whatever dealer uses, downhere no Lexus dealer and I had horrible time at Toyota for 1st change
plan to buy oil and filter and hope for best just pay labor at quick change place for next
walmart has the fram, but the OEM has a different last #, a 1 not a 3
would that still be the right one or a completely different filter?

Yes, I made a typo. That # should have been a "3".

My question to you guys is who do you think makes the best oil filters? I usually just go with OEM and I know that's what my grandpa did but then I started doing research and here's what I found:
Genuine Toyota 90915-YZZD3 : Micron ration 20 Efficiency 50%
BOSCH 3330 & FRAM XG3614 : Micron rating 20 Efficiency 99%
WIX 51348 and 51348xp : Micron rating 21 Efficient 99% (at 23 or 35 Microns not sure)
FRAM PH3614 : Micron rating 20 Efficiency 95%-96%

This being said it seems like BOSCH as well as FRAM's XG filters do the best due to having just as low of a micron rating as OEM, yet being 49% more efficient.
What do you guys think?

Also if there are any other filters you think are better or are larger overall for more filtration I would love to know what they are.

Thank you all!

Your planned oil change interval (OCI) is ~5k miles; it really doesn't matter what brand filter you use. Just change the oil and filter regularly. Just use a name brand engine oil that meets Toyota/Lexus/API specs in the correct viscosity.

Useful info can be found here: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/fo...oil-filters.6/

Edit: My local Walmart stocks Toyota P/N 90915-YZZD3 oil filter; fits 2001-2006 LS430. I'd have no issues running OEM.

Nice self promotion

Your video is click bait crap, you didn't do anything with the filters you cut them open and measured the metal housing for some reason and quoted what the manufacturer says.

I usually shop at Bell Lexus, as they’re closest to me, but have found Treasure Coast to be a few cents cheaper — so for more expensive OEM items, I might have to go with Treasure Coast and risk the shipping from further away to save a few bucks. Haven’t decided yet.
