Default borderline overheating

I changed radiator in my 04 about 8 years (90K) ago. guage coolant temps are currently rising corresponding to load. Guage does read at 2nd line when coasting on freeway 65mph.... It is not low on coolant. But probably time to change the radiator again. What brand does this group recommend: Lexus OEM or Denso, or _____?

Does anyone flush out the system anymore? if so, do you use chemicals (what kind)? I recall years ago, after R&R radiator.....dumping old coolant at hazardous waste station; then running clean water thru couple times; then refill with recommended pink coolant.

Any suggestions?

TIA,
mike

Have you done anything at all to the cooling system lately that would allow air to get trapped inside? I would try the thermostat. Radiator is probably not the problem but make sure no leaves or anything are obstructing the fins. Also it may be a fan problem which is possible because the speed brings temp down. If it goes high while sitting look and make sure fans are running.

LS should not overheat. Mine is 2004 and lived in South TX all its life and NEVER overheats still on the original radiator. I think you may have an air bubble in the hoses.

Overheat because it is on the 2nd bars of the temp gauge? Not sure why there is a concern. Have you plug in any scanner to read live data about the temperature?
