Default Tariffs - Time to order some parts?

I don’t think anyone knows what will happen with tariffs. That said, my ‘06 LS with 123k will need a timing belt soon. The belt was last replaced in 2018 with 45k.

I may be overreacting but would like to order some parts. Here’s what I am thinking:

Timing belt kit with tensioner (Aisen would be fine)
Radiator and hoses (Denso, not sure whether to get the towing spec)

I usually get parts from Rock Auto or Belle Lexus. Any other suggestions as to parts to replace or vendors is appreciated. Thanks.

PartSouq. Compare them to Bell Lexus. Even with shipping from Dubai or wherever they are at, sometimes their prices are much cheaper for OEM parts. I've used both extensively with no issues.

Impex https://en.impex-jp.com/ seems to have the best prices. Just that they don't seem to you exact shipping cost ahead of time.

Yes Tariffs will be affecting car prices, car parts, and car repairs. In addition, a number of parts for our old cars are no longer available, so after market parts will be the way to go.... and there too will probably be price increases. Word of advice.. If owners will be keeping their cars, get whatever maintenance or other needed parts NOW! Either the prices may be over inflated or NO LONGER AVAILABLE.... Empty shelves are another concern for maintenance items... Be prepared and good luck!

Too late, prices have already gone up. An exhaust manifold I saw for $860 a couple months ago was $940 when I got around to ordering it a couple weeks ago.

The prices may have started to rise, however, I still think it makes sense to purchase some of the larger consumable items now. Such as, the timing belt kit, radiator and maybe a brake kit with pads and rotors. Having a little inventory can't hurt.

Cant argue with that. When Advanced Auto was shutting down in Cali I got everything they had for every car I have. Got about $1k worth of inventory for a couple hundred bucks.

Tariffs aside if you know you will need certain parts for the long term buy them while available. These old factory parts are discontinued so whatever is out there are going to slowly disappear. I went through this with the '80 Celica, '83 Cressida, and '97 LS going beyond the 20 year mark. Hunting parts for my '80 Celica i called Japan, Australia and eventually found what I wanted in Canada.

Get them from whomever has the availability and acceptable price. If you cannot find it stateside or Canada, PartSouq is good. Just have enough for an order for the shipping price. IDK about other SE suppliers.
