Default DVD reader

Hello all
gps dvd reader in trunk stopped working got a rebuilt all connections are good plugged it in still getting message external system not connected? Screen works fine for climate ,radio just no Navi and no I agree screen any ideas?
battery is 2 months old

Have you tried with a different disk? It could be that the DVD itself died. They don't last forever.
Otherwise you will need to test your Nav module in someone else's LS430 if you have anyone nearby.

If it won't eject the disc then it's either jammed or not powered up.
You do need to have the ignition switch in the ACC position to be able to eject.

You said you "got a rebuilt" so I assumed that was a known working unit.
If it isn't working how did you get the disk into it?

The rebuilt I was told had a disc in it
it just seems to be not working as I’m still getting the message on the screen I don’t know what more to do now

You have to verify there is a disk inside. Been a long time but think you loosen 2 screws then it angles up and push eject button. Very easy.
