Bluetooth Phones Again!
#4
Hello Jennifer!
Sounds like your car finally arrived! Please post some pics! Silver w/black is beautiful, I've seen that look.
Regarding the Bluetooth phones, I'm surprised more choices are not available. I found a website that may help forum readers learn more about Bluetooth...www.bluetooth.com They've added an additional phone to choose from, but still no one at my dealership can suggest which is the best choice.
A friend of mine owns several Att stores around St.Louis. Unfortunately he only told me the same info the dealer gave me...Choices but no strong suggestions.
I do know that on November 24th, rates for differnet carriers will probably drop because people will then be able to keep their cell# and go to any company. However not all carriers have bluetooth.
If anyone finds the best bluetooth phone, please let us know. Thank you!

Bluetooth
I am using the Nokia 6310i and have been very happy with it. Didn't like having to load my phone book one at a time via bluetooth, so I only loaded about twenty frequently dialed numbers--you can always place the call from the phone--it still goes thru the nav system. I only wish the nav system had voice dial, which is available on the phone (but not when it is in Bluetooth mode). I suggest you buy the 6310i now and give Lexus (and others) time to come up with a better solution.

The Sony Ericsson T610/T616 is the best phone available and is offered by Cingular, ATT and Tmobile...... This phone has the best features, battery life and is very easy to use...... The whole phone is transfered from the phone to the car in seconds.........

To transfer the entire phonebook with the T610, go to the main menu screen with all the icons (press the joystick once). Then select the Phonebook icon. Then select Advanced. Then select Send All. Then select Via Bluetooth. Select the Lexus hands-free system from the list.
Of course, the LS screen needs to be set to receive to receive the phonebook before you start this (from telephone screen, Settings->Transfer Phonebook).
Let me know if this works for you.

Deep, I finally got around to transferring the phonebook via BlueTooth and it worked just as you described. The only catch was the phone would only show my PC bluetooth device and then while seaching (prior to sending all) the car's bluetooth device showed up. Very strange the way it would take a minute or so before it would pop-up. Anyway, it works great.

All this is from 2003 are there any new phones that will work with the Blue Tooth in the 2004 LS-430 ?
I looked for an old Sony Ericsson T610/T616 and could not find one

Not sure I follow what your issue might be. Seems, I would think any descent phone should work. My Samsung S7 edge works great.
