ASC controller for 2001 ls430

Hi this is my first post on here. I currently own a 2001 ls430 UL and recently purchased an ASC controller. The one I got is an ASC663. Everything looked good and the first day the car drove fine but the days following while driving the rear end would lift up over 6 inches and the front would lower causing me to have to pull over due to a rough ride. I was then having issues where the controller would not lower the car at all as I did not hear the compressors working. I would do things such as unplugging the controller and restarting the car to get it fixed but it only worked a few times. After not being able to drive without the rear end shooting up I took the whole thing out and my car is back to normal. I would really love some insight on what might be going on as I would love to keep running the ASC. The controller seemed to have been working properly and lowered my car amazingly till I had those issues. I thought at first that it was because I lowered it on my driveway which has a very slight angle (even though I had no issues doing this the first day) or maybe I did not set it up properly? I am hoping it's not just my car rejecting aftermarket stuff…
