Ultra Lux and 18"s?
Does anyone know if you can get the 2004 LS ultra lux package and the 18" wheels?
The brochure makes it seem like you can't.
Thanks for the help.

18's and UL
I was told no. They only comes with sport pkg. I think 18's come cast or chrome. Sport pkg or sport pkg 2. Try build your lexus on Lexus web site. Dealer may install but I was told 18's chrome are hard to get . With the car being out 3-4 weeks everything is hard to get.Sport pkg is a no no on UL.

From everything I've read in the brochure and on the web site, 18"s are only avail on the Sport package - which is not avail with the Ultra Luxury. My guess as to why: the UL comes with air suspension which is incompatible with the sport suspension components.

The Reason is that the Ultra has a softer suspension and is quieter............The Sport is just what it means ,18" better handling and stiffer ride........and Lexus will not mix-up the packages they ment to keep them different..........This way they have a young mans LS and a older mans LS.........This does not mean that you can't buy aftermarket 18" wheels and put them on an Ultra.......

18's Ul
Great glad you got one . I guess my dealer and the you build your lexus fooled us so to speak. At least everyone now knows it can happen. I wanted the sport and the trunk space of a non UL. So I ordered mine. Thanks for the post.

Yep, you are correct. Actually you lose about 2 cubic feet of trunk space.

Specification at Lexus.com:
Trunk capacity: 20.2 cubic feet (without rear A/C), 17.5 cubic feet (with rear A/C)
At 17.5 cubic feet it's still a decent size though.
The trunk spaces in the S-class and the E-class at 15.4 cubic feet and 15.9 cubic feet respectively aren't even close.
Even the 7-series with its huge, ungainly trunk hump has only 18.0 cubic feet of trunk space.

You know as I typed out "2 .cu ft" I was thinking that it was more than that. I stand corrected.
BTW, just for comparison's sake, do any of you remember the h-u-g-e trunks that Ford-Lincoln-Mercury built into their flagship sedans back in the '70s? My parents had a '78 Mercury Grand Marquis and at the time it was THE largest trunk on the road. It was even bigger than the Lincoln's. You could easily stash two large male bodies in there with no problem. Anyway, it was rated at 22.7 cu ft - not too much more than the base LS430. I can't believe the Mercedes. That's just insane.
