Battery draining
2000, 205K. Third time the battery has drained on me, once because there was corrosion on the ground. I then installed some 12s in the trunk with an amp, the amp turns off with the car so I don’t think it’s that. No ps leaking on the alternator so that looks good. This battery is less than a month old, tried jump starting it and charging it for over a day and nothing.. no clicks. Any input ? Don’t say starter.... please! Lol

Brand of battery and where bought? Date code?
Have you load tested the alternator?
Is the aftermarket amplifier wired to turn off when ignition key is removed?
What is condition of other ground points?

The starter has nothing to do with battery health but the inability to jump-start is a concern...
What is the battery voltage testing after an hour off the charger? Check alternator function. Starters do fail as well. For a new battery to drain there is possibly a short. How was the car before the subs were installed?
2006 LS 430 - 160,000 km I've owned this incredible vehicle since 2011 with only one issue and that is the battery. Mechanic's want to gouge me hourly to find the drain....they say it is a very complex car and the problem could be any where. I recently read after spending a day on the computer researching that maybe the key fob - keyless entry could be continually interacting when to close. I've placed my keys further away in the house to see if it corrects itself. I will update.
Could try physically unpowering amp.See what happens. My aftermarket radio is pulling current when turned 'off'.Also how much power is that amp pulling and you using it without car running?Possible alt cant get battery charged up again. Is amp pulling more amps than alt can deliver?Ive read about that happening.Alt not designed to charge dead batteries, just bring em back up after starting.FWIW,just tossing it out there.Just because batt is a month old doesnt mean it didnt fail,it could be internally shorted out, have it checked. You can show 12.8 volts yet have zilch amps coming out and cant power starter.
My car can sit a week or more at a time.I was reading a 50ma drain.Had a couple dead battery issues after 4-5 days sitting.Instead of trying to figure out that drain I just said the heck with it.Bought a battery tender and from battery ran a wire with female connector to front bumper.Actually looks very clean.
Now I just plug in the car to tender male connector when I get home. Not all that fancy but at least battery is ALWAYS fully charged, that has to be a good thing.Maybe it was the diodes backfeeding on the alternator, that happened on jetta (known issue) yet testing said alt was fine,it wasnt.Recently the alt on Lexus failed so who knows, doesnt matter now,i like the tender setup.
Did the same thing on Jeepster only with a little 10 watt solar panel setup on roof.Nice always having fully charged batteries on the vehicles now.

Sorry for being away guys... finals coming up and haven’t got A chance to load test anything. But I can confirm that the amp has no power with key off, also.... I got an interview for a tech position at A Lexus dealer! Super stoked. Will update when I can mess with the car.

Was the master cylinder gold plated and the prize for getting the job?
Ha, JK. Congrats on the job. It's nice starting out with real good employment and a career.
Also, nice to hear you figured out the car problem. Corrosion is a bastard. Any time I have a problem with a battery I always look at the alternator first. Good job. (Both)

On the 98 when my alt quit the 'headlight adjustment failure' popped up on dash and started dinging, mine was gone at that point.
And again a big congrats on getting the MC notification on the new job
thats such good news,so sincerely happy for you.
