On another note, is it common for our cars to have steering wheel vibration after it's been lowered? That what a couple tire guys say. I've had my tires balanced twice now (though second time was different place with a 45MPH balancer -- too slow??). The virbration is a little better after the second balancing, but the odd thing is the vibration seems to come and go. It'll usually happen right around 62MPH. The steering wheel will shake a lot, then it seems to go away. Almost makes me wonder if it's the road imperfections being transmitted due to the stiff suspension. My GS400 never had this problem. It was sitting on Bilsteins and H&R springs, though not as lowered as my LS currently is.

Thanks,

Your vibration that comes and goes my be from flat spots on tires and as tires warm-up from driving they will decrease..............Remember that the balance is very critical on an LS and tire shop must have a good balance machine, most shops machines are not precise enough for an LS

What's a good balance machine? I will worry about the balance issue after my little summer move. I will be in Albany over the summer, so hopefully they have a good shop there.

Thanks,

Brian

Sorry I been out of town. Ride isnt bad at all at the default setting, not as soft as stock, but nothing to complain about. Plus its really low as it is right now, i can barely stick one finger in between.

About the vibration, its allllll about tire balancing. I been balancing my wheels every 4months, learned that the place I do it at isnt so great, went to a place with the HUNTER, and 90% vibration is gone. I didnt know it made a differeance.

I know a member or two that installed the L-sportline suspension with no problems, so why only us?

I don't know. Were they installed on an LS400? Did they have the setting at default or below? Maybe Eibach changed the design recently? I do know that the top springs hitting each other was definately the problem on my car.

Yup, they were installed on the lowest setting on a 99. And yes, it was a problem in my car as well, I put the same exact clear hose you used and had it aligned yesterday at the dealership. I'm glad I got to install my rear seats, it was so noisy in there without them.

That is odd. The L-Sportline guy said the boss had it installed on a 2000. I wonder if they included some extra rubber damping or coating on stock springs in the later years that maybe we didn't get. That's about the only thing I can figure.

I hear you on that! I was so happy to put it all back together. It looks like a luxury car again -- and quiet. I'm glad the hose worked out for you.

Well, here she is, tinted, lowered, new rims, and the bottom cladding and grill painted all black onyx. I love my car right now. :)

Glad you guys got that worked out. It is those first two progressive windings that cause this problem. In addition to the vinyl hose, Tein also sells an insulator you can place on the coils without removing them.

Brian S 06-04-05 06:32 AM

Awesome. Any how the insulator installs and where we can get them?

Thanks,

Brian

I think Dazz should provide these for free.
