Helping someone out with there LS, 96 200K mint, car recently had head gasket work and a new fuel pump, as I’m told he was changing ignition coils and now the car doesn’t start at all, old coils don’t turn it over either anymore. You can hear the ignition trying to turn over but nothing working. Any ideas? Fuses and battery good
Hmm, well, are the spark plug wires on correctly? 100% sure? I would triple check the wires if it ran beforehand.
You may need to check your fuel pressure as well, it might not be getting proper fuel pressure for some reason even though you replaced the pump.
You can check all the cylinders individually for spark to see that they are getting spark to the plugs.
pressure is good, he said the car was running completely fine with the new head gasket and pump things only went wrong when he touched the coils, and they all were in correct from my eye
Okay, it started. It’s shaking, I can’t tell if it’s the motor mounts or the actual engine. Also the TRAC light is flashing, when u rev it up it sounds very.... clogged, best word I can think of.
1996 and newer are OBD 2. (Onboard Diagnostics) There is a plug connector under your dash near where you release the hood from the interior of your car. If you don't have an OBD 2 scanner, I'd try to invest in one, you can find them real affordable now-a-days or maybe your local parts store has a lending policy and maybe you can get a loaner scanner. Brief yourself on how they work ( you simply plug it in ) if you've never used one, it's not terribly difficult follow instructions.
I would be interested to see how your car reacts to the scanner and anything that comes up.

I have a scanner, and a decent one LAUNCH OBD2 Scanner CRP129X. No engine light at all, just trac, can’t find any code at all.
Interesting, it wold not surprise me that the computer does not recognize the misfire it can't tell if the misfire happens with a coil pack, there are no sensors on the spark plugs, the wires or the coils. Hmm, okay if it runs right albeit rough, I would allow it to run, then, unplug and plug back in each spark plug wire individually wire individually one at a time while its running. If when you unplug one of them, and it runs a bit different, then that one is more than likely fine, if you unplug one and its running the same, that's the one with the problem, and it may be more than one cylinder so test them all but at least you might be able to narrow it down to which one or more is causing the problem if this is what is going on.
