Default I fixed my AC problem

Sorry I couldn't find the AC thread with the catastrophic AC failure in a 92 LS 400 to continue with the thread.I told you guys I would let you know when I fix my ac problem on my 90 ls.The Ac light was flashing and all it was, was a bad compressor(clutch).I replaced the compressor from the junk yard which costs $300 and a shop installed and vacummed it for $120.It is soo ice cold and the R134 had already been converted before this incident.

Thumbs up

Glad to hear you got it fixed, I was wondering the other day if you were ever able to get your emissions straightened out? Or did you just "move" to a county that doesn't require it?

I agree, the LS A/C is extremely cold. Mine cools down in minutes, I love it!

Default Hey Ga 400

I still have not fixed the emmission problem.I had someone do a clean pipe but I need to do a tune up and change the cat.I think that should do it.The last owner really messed up the car.He rolled the Odo back and from calculating it should be around 260k.I have not even changed the plugs or belt on it.My next move will be to change the ball joint(control arm) and the rear spindle.I have done soo much on the car in the past 3yrs. I will start coming to the gathering when I replace those 18s with 20s

Wow! 260K that is amazing! Going to be rolling on 20's! I look forward to seeing that. My 91 LS just turned 221K yesterday. Seems to run better and better all the time. My car is looking much better since the last time I saw you at the Rich's / Andretti's meet. I have some nice tint on and a new headunit, future plans are for bigger wheels - 16" or 17" Lexus OEM off a newer LS or SC, new door speakers and a rear amp, My new sub is in the trunk but no amp right now, I went by HIFI Buys today to get a quote on putting in all my stuff, hopefully in the next couple of weeks. I look forward to seeing you at the next meet, don't wait until you get those 20's !

I didn't know you got your HU in Rich! I checked out your gallery pics, it looks great. You should post some pics of your sub too.

Hi Earl,

I had forgotten I put the pics in the gallery. Thanks again for the hook up on the face plate. Yes, I am really enjoying the head unit, can't wait to get the speakers like I want them. It is playing through the factory speakers now and no sub, adequate but no oomph. The sub is a work in progress, I have it in a QLogic box and had it attached to the rear deck, waiting on the amp to decide where it will stay, might cut rear deck to make it fit. It is an 8" Cerwin Vega, the basket surrounding the cone prevents it from fitting in the factory hole, and it is not free-air, so it will have to be boxed somehow.

Exclamation Finally!

Well,

Like I was telling Earl!, I am really close to getting in the sub and new door speakers. I finally took it to HiFi Buys last week and got the last steps done. I have Boston Acoustics FX45 4" in all doors, my sub in a box in the trunk, and a Kicker 300 watt amp driving it. I was going to do it myself, but the lifetime guarantee on installation, free removal, and upgrade guarantee combined with the fact I knew two people at work that had work done there (one of them being a Lexus) and were very satisfied made it the right decision for me. I have a few pics in the gallery of the trunk, here is one https://www.clublexus.com/gallery/sh...ium&thecat=500

Earl!, thanks again for the hookup on the plate and plugs for the headunit.

How does it sound? it is clean and it pounds much better than I would have expected. I am very satisfied.
