Lightbulb LS400 1999 with factory Nav Question

Hello All,

I am happy to have an LS400 again. 144k miles owned by a Grandma that did all the services and maintenance! I lucked out.

I am wondering if anyone know's the easiest way to get an AUX-IN going. I know I can buy a tape aux-in, but I'd prefer something hardwired in if possible.

The dealership left an XM radio device in the car, but none of it is aux-in. I will post a picture later.. I have never seen the type of connection (pipe dream maybe it'll be a simple fix).

I am not above removing stuff and soldering (I've seen this done on youtube).

Thank you!

I'm definitely looking for the same. Had to settle for a aux to cassette adapter

This method may be a bit above removing stuff and soldering but I hardwired the L and R input ports as are shown below for my 98 Celsior's navi board.
You can find it more at here. As far as I did experiments, this method provided me a far better audio quality compared with using a cassette adapter or a FM transmitter.

I just use a bluetooth FM transmitter that pairs with my iphone as soon as I get in the car to stream music and audio.

Factory Radio Service in Rancho Cucamonga CA installed an aux-in on the back of the Nakamichi in the 2000 LS400 I owned for 11 years. He's also done it for others on this forum but I don't know if he does it on LS400 nav units. Here's my thread about it from 2012: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...000-ls400.html

He advertises that he can also install Bluetooth A2DP and phone hands-free but again I don't know if he can do it on a nav unit. I was totally satisfied with the quality and quick turnaround.

Thank you. I'll check that out. Today at work.. I thought about the CD related tech by the glove box. There must be an audio wire in there that can be spliced to an AUX cord....

Everyone else thank you for the replies as well!
