Wow. I always knew to be careful of Northern vehicles but never considered rust as a lurking evil. Should have, Neil Young had an album entitled "Rust never sleeps" I take not only is it awake, it's caffeinated and working triple shifts!

Good thought, coastal vehicles can be a pain too, especially if they sit near the water. The mist permeates everything! I vacationed down in Galveston, TX a few years ago and we went to the beach late one night to walk. I parked the car on the seawall and when we got back, the whole car was wet. I had to use the washer and wipers to clean the dew off of the windshield. I ran it through the car wash the next day and avoided doing that again. Also, when we were down in Gulf Shores, I noticed that the fridge in our beach front condo was rusting in a few spots as well as the hinges on the bedroom and bathroom doors. Not good!

I got my 93 from NY, the tip of Long Island to be exact. (spent it's whole life there) It didn't have one spec of rust when I got it in '09 at 110K. Brought it to Ct. and 5 years later when I got rid of it at 180K there was only very little surface rust beginning on the frame. Nothing on the body. Now, my 94 with 210K is a different story. All it's life in New Hampshire (except the 4 yrs I had it in Ct.) and it's all rusted and rotted, especially over the rear wheels and the gigantic holes in the trunk. It all depends on how someone takes care of it. Very hard to tell nowadays. "It's like a box of chocolate"

I do have one question about pic 7 in this car. https://trademe.nz/motors/cars/toyot...ing/1630104736 10 years and I've never seen this option but what is on the bottom of the front seats in the back? I love all the back seat options in these cars over there.
