Unhappy Rim fell of my Lex today (pix)

Today a tire and rim fell off my car while I was driving with my mom and sister @ 55MPH, because the idiots put the wrong lug-nuts on. So it was kinda hard to control the car on 3 wheels. The other 3 wheels were missing 4 lugnuts (total) and 6 of the remaining were stripped. I am kinda :-\. Here is one picture of the least of my cars problems, but I don't feel like putting up the rest because it will make me too depressed. oh yay, back to the body shop again, this time for some major work...yipee. I will post more of the story when i get back from my vacation. Later guys.

Bummer man sorry to see this. Hope you get very fix soon. Perhaps you can sue the shop for repairs, that looked dangerous.

Ouch...sorry to hear that man. You should definitely file a complaint or lawsuit to the idiots who installed your wheels....your mom and sis as well yourself could've been seriously hurt. Glad to hear nothing serious happened though.

That sounds like a scrarry event!!
I would try to get the shop that put on your wheels to pay for the repairs.

Jason,
If you are properly insured - and I am sure you are right?? - then don't worry about going after the shop.... Just detail the event - file a police report and get YOUR insurance company involved...

This is a liability situation and THEY will subrogate against the shop - let them spend the money for the lawyer not you...

Besides - one thing that few people realize is that - under most law - if the company is found negligent then they will be responsible for the ACV - actual cash value of repairs.. meaning a depreciated amount based on the age of the vehicle.... YOUR insurance company however likely insures you for replacement cost and therefore you will pay nothing outside of your deductible... If you have a good agent / adjuster you may even recover your deductible from the garage through them.....

Either way - BUMMER MAN - things like this should just not happen..... Hope you get it all worked out....

Cheers,

OMG, My car looks just like yours, except different rims and a
different style exhaust. Seeing that almost brought tears to
my eyes. I hope your car gets repaired at the expense of the
shop and everything goes smoothly.

Yeah, I just got back from wheel works and they are picking up the tab of the whole thing. All of the studs need to be replace, the rotor, and a bunch of front-under body work (near the front tow hitch) was punched in and bent so they will need some major work on that too. I am just happy this didn't happen of a freeway or well-populated area, I got lucky. All 4 wheels were wobbleing when the car was coming off the tow-truck, it was pretty frightening.

Anyways, this again, makes me feel very good about my car (beleive it or not). Because when that wheel fell off at that speed the car didn't even swerve of loose too much control. It still felt pretty sold and easy skidded to the side of the road. I am sure this wouldn't be the case if I were in some kind of integra or something.

Well, today I am taking a vacation to NewPort Beach (LA area) so I will be going now. Talk to you guys later.

Seems like a pretty cool guy, but this quote makes me think twice about how close minded you really are.

"some kind of integra" ???

I think he was refering to some smaller/lighter car that would me
much more difficult to control with a wheel missing.

I'm sorry to hear that Jasoneo5, the good thing is that everyone is ok. I have a question for you. In the last pic you posted, it looks like your headlights are crystal cleared, are your headlights stock or did you clear them, I'm not talking about the turning signals, I'm talking about the headlights on top. I was just wondering.

His headlights aren't for sure, but his foglights look a lot clearer though.
