I just replaced the PS pump and the fluid is topped off. Here's the engine running in park after removing the front radiator shrouds. This should make the noise easier to hear

The PS pump to my knowledge was OEM. The shop that did it has only used OEM stuff before, but I'll confirm. There's no evidence of leaking PS fluid I saw. I figure the old PS pump when it went (had the very loud cavitation noise, louder when turning, difficulty turning the wheel) splashed some fluid into the alternator on the day I drove it before getting it fixed. My big question is how much time do I have on the alternator (or other component if it's something else). I'm going to have a local place take a look at it tomorrow to see.

The cheapest you'll find a real Toyota/Lexus pump is about $450 so a shop would charge higher than that. That should tell you right away what they installed. The "rebuilt" pumps from parts stores will whine right out of the box.
Edit- $450ish is just the cost of the genuine pump not including any labor to install.

So after some further investigation (had to get a new copy of the receipt from shop), turns out the pump was only $300 and an A1Cardone model. Bradland you nailed with the PS pump. It's getting louder and starting to have increased resistance turning. Less than 2000 miles on the darn thing too. Working with the shop that put it in to get it warrantied and going to have an Indy here in AR.
