The wipers you're using are generic replacements that aren't designed for a specific car. These Lexus blades I find fit and conform to the curve of the windshield at lot better, especially on the outer edge of the passenger blade. I used to get a 2-3" portion when using Michelin blades that would skip over that portion. Also the frame of the blade had to be modified and bent with pliers. All that headache avoided when using OE blades.
Given they cost $5 and replaced in 2 minutes every 3 or 4 years. I don't see it as a headache. They clear the water just fine. Also it's really dry and hot during the summer. Maybe not 120 but 110 isn't far off.

A month ago I ordered from a mechanic a set of PIAA silicone wiper blades for my '96 LS400 because I had had the same problem with a Bosch blade on the passenger side. These PIAA wipers are the best I have used. They wipe squeegee clean and are worth the money. They also last longer than the rubber ones. I paid CAD $64. I am sure if ordered direct from PIAA in the US, you might pay less.

+1 on the PIAA recommendation. I put a set on m 98 back in 2004 (paid $40 USD for the two blades back then) and they still work as good as new today.

I bought the exact part from Lexus $45 in total. It appears that you can see the top is touching and out of sweep area as well.

Well, I hope you didn't get the part # from Losiracer. The LS400 takes a 22 inch blade, not a 24 inch.

I'm using the 24" blade on mine and its not hitting? Did you install it incorrectly? This is what my local dealer recommended and fits fine on both my 97' and 99'

The passenger is perfect. The driver is not. A close up on your driver clip wiper would be helpful.
My dealer said its listed for 2001 and above and may not a fit a 98 since it has long hook, I would say he may not be even aware that it would fit as several dealer website cites that this would fit the 98 and he was referring to a paper brochure and wanted $60 for the conventional wiper blades.
Also mine came in the same exact packaging but was blue instead of Gold but the part numbers are same and read as Made in China though its a authentic Lexus dealer though.

https://www.amayama.com/en

You need to enter your car model then search, that wiper linky I dont have. Will say this, the Lexus wipers are super soft and flexible, unlike any Ive ever owned.Again about need,I live in a torrential rain storm area during winter,I'll spend what it takes on wipers. Also I dont have severe sunlight wearing them out, lucky there.

The autoparts store wipers, one season on my Jeep, the quality vrs Lexus is very notable.
