Default 1997 LS400 Knock sensor pigtail

I have a new knock sensor pigtail, but not sure where the ECU end connects. The pictures show the wires that were connected to the knock sensors. Looks to me like the wires have been spliced. The black and tan wires that go into the plastic wire channel look to have been spliced, maybe bypassing the connector. Is that the case or is the connector inside the wire channel? What are the procedures to test the 2 wires in the harness back to the ECU to verify they are good? Help, I am not sure how to proceed.

Has anyone rewired the knock sensor wires going to the ecu? On the connector going into the wire harness to the ecu there are 3 pins. I tested continuity with a ohm meter. Both small pins show continuity on pin 7 and to ground. The large pin on top has no continuity anywhere I tested. According to what I read, there should be 1 pin connecter to pin 7 of ecu and one to pin 11 of ecu and the shield should be grounded. Can anyone provide details on this issue?

what made you order the new wiring harness in the first place? was it because of the non-OEM wiring you found?
are you certain you got the right part for the right engine/model year vehicle?
do the ends of the Y cable mate to the knock sensors?

i would try and open up the wire channel to see if there is a connector in there for the other end of the Y cable.
do that before trying to wire directly to the ECU.

My LS400 is running great. It is a 97 but built in april 96. It is not wired like a 97. Once I figured that out, I was able to locate correct pins on ECU and there was no issues in the harness. I had to adapt the new pigtail into the harness, cut connectors off and soldered new pigtail to old harness connector. I purchased Denso Sensors from Ebay and all is working great.
