Early 90's Celsior Desireable?

I have the opportunity to purchase an early 90's Celsior with low mileage and in immaculate condition. Properly imported and able to be registered in all states. Are these desirable at all? Will it hold its value if I decide to sell down the line?

Being RHD will detract from it's value a good bit of you plan on driving this vehicle and then trying to sell it later. Of the few who would be interested in an old Japanese luxury cruiser, even fewer would still pay a premium for a RHD version.

However, if you find a museum piece and keep it as such, yes, it will very likely see an increase in value over time.

If you can live with RHD and plan to keep the car for many years/miles, I say go for it, you'd be hard pressed to find a better 25+ year old car to do so with. But if you're looking to have fun for a while and then flip it for same money or a profit, I'd recommend hunting for a clean US Spec car and keeping it up.

If it is kept factory stock, has ALL the options, yes it is well worth it. Not driving it and not modifying it will keep the price up. Every time a car hits the road or a parking lot the odds of damage are high. Keeping it perfect will keep the value very high.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have an immaculate 13’ LS460 L as a daily driver. This Celsior would be a garage queen just because I am an LS aficionado and this one happens to be such a museum piece it peaked my interest.

i can see how the RHD could be a detractor.. gotta give this one a bit more thought!

i imagine most people who would find it desirable aren't in the position to have it (like me)

also you haven't talked any pricing numbers, what do you imagine you'll end up paying for this? i think the 1st gen LS will be a definite future classic... it's literally styled to not possibly be obnoxious in any way, and its smooth clean lines will always be appealing

in less than 30 years the lexus brand has gone from literally not existing, to being a major automotive force that's here to stay, and it all had to start somewhere

its priced at $5,000. Has less than. 30,000 miles. 100% factory stock .zero modifications.

That is an excellent price if all of the paperwork, shipping fees, auction fees, and registration have been taken care of. A car like that typically goes for $7k-$9k on Japanese Classics..

It's worth inspecting the car in-person for previous repairs, rust, or driveability issues. The seals may be a little dry.
