Hi Joe, Your car looks to be in great condition! What is the main difference between the Swift springs and the standard ones that come with the BC's?

The claim on the link from BC to the Swift sight is more ridge alloy with less coils providing a better ride quality through the compression of the spring. When I spoke with BC they said the coil is one made for their product specific. Not an upgrade from the springs Swift sells as a racing/drifting/street race series.
I read a review where they claimed the spring gave some height back to the current ride but that may be vehicle and application specific. Not enough detail.
My buddy (car enthusiast who constantly turns wrenches as his stress relief) Argues that regular springs are usually softer on the first part of the stroke and it would be more like the factory ride I like. IDK. I’d probably be content with just the KYB strut/shock but if I’m gonna put in the work and money I kinda want to try coilovers.

Interesting, I guess if I decide to lower mine, I may belly up and get the Swift spring upgrade as well, ride quality is as important to me as the stance of the car.

Pete, I did it. Pulled the trigger on the BC setup today. I'll probably put them on a couple of weeks after they arrive. Only difference I maybe running my winter rims & rubber. My experience is the ICE-X ride just slightly louder than the Premier AS maybe a tad stiffer. So i should be able to gauge what if any changes to the ride and handling without having to many variables going in.

I tend to be very finicky about the ride quality. Part of the reason i haven't messed with the rims. My wifes XJ8L rides very nice but firmer than the LS. A different type of luxury. I hope doing this doesn't make it as stiff or stiffer. That cars defiantly got more aggressive ride and handling and im not trying to make the LS into that.

As for the whine you mentioned i think i have a similar noise but its been there since i bought it. Seems louder in the winter and i believe its the pulley on the alternator. Will be another thing i tackle if it gets louder.

Hey Joe,
Congrats on the new BC's ! Did you order the BC's with the Swift springs? Please let me know what you think on the difference in ride quality between the BC's and stock. :) Like you, I just want to lower slightly but not give up the plush ride..

Pete

Yes I ordered with everything for the BC. Swift springs, covers, extenders.
I intended to setup as a direct replacement at first since I’ll be using stock 15” rims and tire size (s). So I should have a good idea about the ride differences. I’ll also be trying to hit as close as possible to Lexus soft, but I bought a 28 year old car with 60k miles so I have a tainted recollection of how firm the ride as intended by the manufacturer since the rear suspension was tired by the time I got it.
I’ll give a shout after.
