Default TOM's exhaust vs. stock on LS430

TOM's has a barrel exhaust system for 01+ LS430's. Do you think it will make the LS sound any different outside or inside the cabin? If so in what way (bubble or grawl sound)? I'd like to keep the sound non-intrusive inside of course, but it could be a bit more aggrisive sounding outside.

Thanks in advanced...

You know, any aftermarket exhaust will give you grawl with or without silencers. Here is what I am gonna use. I would go with the whole JIC setup if I were you.

I am sure you lill like it. Another electronic Bondish toy

VidNav,

YES... that system will be MUCH louder both inside and outside. What are your goals in changing exhaust? More power or just a bit more sound?

Retro, that valve tube is over 3" inches. Where are you planning on placing it? It could be functional if placed in the correct location but I am afraid it is not going to help your power. Obviously it will not when closed but open that 3.15" pipe is going to slow velocity considerably and probably reduce low/mid range power noticeably.

OK, looks like the Toms exhaust for the LS430 is a conventional baffled muffler design (possibly large case straight through) The Oval tips are probably designed to fit an aftermarket rear bumper. The barrel design is straight through and probably much louder.

Seriously, for $1800 bucks you aren't getting much more than 2 muffler and fancy tips that will not even fit your stock bodywork.

A MUCH better solution to slightly stronger sounding exhaust would be to simply install a couple quality turbo style mufflers. A pair of good stainless mufflers are around $200 and installation should be $100-200.
