Traction Control Problems
Hey all, so I got a 95 LS400 I got from a trade. Trac light was blinking and I ran a scan and got a code for sub tps sensor. I replaced the sensor but I’m still having issues. When I start the car I can hear the butterfly plate in the TB clicking for about 10 seconds. For that brief period of time I can turn the trac on and off but once the clicking stops the trac light goes back to blinking and I’m no longer able to turn the trac off. I also noticed what I think is called a throttle cable that was damaged and not even connect to what it was supposed to connected to. Maybe not a main one I guess. It starts from the back left of the engine bay if your facing the car from the front and connects to the part in the middle where u can open the throttle manually. I replaced that as well. I’m trying to figure out what is causing this clicking , and how I can fix that and get my traction control system working so I can turn it off whenever I want. Any help, info, or direction would be greatly appreciated!!
You don't need any special tools other than philips head screw driver to adjust throttle position sensor. Once your car's engine reach operating temperature, you can adjust the throttle position sensor by hand and move it to the position where your tach needle show 650 rpm. Then tighten it. Forget about feeler gauge or multi-meter.

As far as I remember, without thickness gauges, you can't adjust those 2. The detail is in the manual below. The idle rpm is fully controlled by the ECU after mechanical settings are properly done in accordance with the correct procedures.

Oh my friend, how are going to adjust TPS while it’s in drive? For that you may have to sit on the top of the engine and let someone put in drive and you adjusting the TPS.
Of course it has to be in either park or neutral.

lol I just remember reading somewhere about doing it in drive with a second person. Foot on the brake of course. Moving the tps from one end to other isn’t doing anything for my idle Rpms...

It should respond to TPS. Have you bought a new aftermarket TPS or used eBay TPS? Clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaning spray. The clicking noise from butterfly valve you are talking about, it sound like loose butterfly valve. Can you check and make sure your car's throttle body is operating normally.
