Weird leaking red gew top of engine 99 LS
So last week I noticed this gew on top of the engine, it’s sticky, hard, so I wiped it off, next week, even more. Anyone know what this could be? Also I put a picture of the part it’s coming from, does anyone know what that part is called? it only looks like a little in the picture, but I cleaned most of it off, left some for the pictures.

I don't see the pictures but any red "goo" is typically from the radiator neck which houses the coolant.
OEM coolant from lexus/Toyota is red and when it slightly leaks and dries, it becomes this cake-like goo.
it could also be ATF which is a red color then mixes with dirty and debris making it "goo".

When uploading a picture you must categorize it on the upload pictures screen Most of the time it doesn't work doing it on a mobile phone. So try uploading from a Windows OS.
Or you can use another host like I just did because I am using an Android tablet and the forum attachments system doesn't work, like I said above.

What phone are you using... most don't know but the iPhone option to take 'live' pictures changes the format and it's no longer jpg and most systems don't recognize it. I found this out when taking pics to post something on CL and had a heck of a time trying to understand why it could not recognize my pics. Take the live feature off your iPhone and you will get jpg photos again that most systems recognize. At least this worked for me.
The only red liquids in the vehicle are the coolant, and power steering/transmission that both use tranny fluid. I'm leaning toward coolant myself.

Congratulations on your success to upload the picture. But you wouldn't be happy to know that it's the LLC. Your heater control valve is leaking.

The part itself isn't terribly expensive, around $75, but all the hoses attached are probably brittle and dry. The odds of destroying the attached hoses is very high so be prepared to replace them as well. Unfortunately bulk hose which you can buy very cheaply will not bend in tight quarters like these OEM hoses. The 3 hoses involved add an additional $110 ($50 + $40 + $20) to the issue...

The 87246E hose doesn't attach to the heater control valve, so that might save a little $. An eBay seller has the valve, Toyota part #87240-50090, for $59.90 plus $5.00 shipping. They have a 100% feedback rating as well.
