Filled radiator with coolant now heater doesn’t work
So I did my first drain, all I had was water in the resivour for a good 2 months... yes yes I know that’s bad, anyway skipping to now I drained the radiator and disconnected the hoses and let it drain, put the new Toyota red coolant in and now the ac works fine and the car temp gauge is normal again, but the heater doesn’t work, it continues to blow cold at 60 something degrees, the numbers change but not the heat, any ideas ??

Did you read HOW to change the fluid threads before you did this? Your answer is there regarding getting the air out of system.IF you did that, you need the pro's to help you.

i did, only thing I didn’t do is unscrew the 2 bolts and get it out the engine block, what I ended up doing was have someone rev it up while I re poured the coolant to the right level, this time the heater works, not sure what did it but I’m not gonna ask questions if it works lol, thanks for response spuds

yeah you had air in the system.
reving the engine is part of the burping process to rid the cooling system of bubbles.
for a 1st gen but still relevant:
