Default Million mile Lexus update.

I have been following this "marvel" online for awhile now and the stories out there are always interesting.
If there is other information on this car you all find please post. Wish I could drive it.These folks are really gonna take it for a spin.

Here is the latest I've come across. Enjoy!

Wow, I was wondering where those photos came from!

Here's an even more recent update from last week. If you look at the photos, the mileage is around 972,092 right now.

I got to drive it back in Oct 2015 when I first got my LS400. My friend Tyson had borrowed the car for a 2000 mile trip around AZ and i messaged him asking him if I could check it out one day. To my surprise, he let me take it for a quick spin around Tempe, AZ near the ASU campus. This car drove just like mine did which had 255k at the time.

Even got to make a log entry in the book!

Wow...Privileged!

I remember reading he had to do some repair-update-upgrades to get Mill.Mile.Lexi road worthy.I do not recall what they were.
Did you and Tyson talk about any of these? If so do you remember what they were? And I just found on Reddit.

Yeah, he wrote them down in the front of the notebook. And just before I got to drive it, he spent $2000 rebuilding the tranny since it was toast at just over 900k miles

i especially appreciated how this got the majority of its miles over like a 6-7 year period, the first 10 years only accumulated like 100k or so. for whatever reason thesmokingtire seems to have ruined changed their website and reduced a lot of the functionality while also deleting many of the old posts, such as matt's original entry for when he bought the car back in december 2014. luckily the wayback machine has the page archived so it can still be viewed here: https://web.archive.org/web/20161224...e-lexus-ls400/ (page may need some time to load initially)

Losiracer2, thanks for the photos. Kinda reminds me of the old expression of "If these walls could talk" Matt and you folks posts and entries are letting this car do it. Anton and Ana are planning this month to start the 14-15 thousand mile trip around America.
This should nix my other halfs concern for a New York trip in our 75k UCF-21!

All my Toyota/Lexus vehicles have over 100k miles and I'd take any of them across country. No problems there.
Nice post and thanks for the updates. Hope it sees 1M miles shortly... great story.

For me it's "the sword in the stone" that keeps me going and challenged! Do I hear 2 million miles? Any volunteers?
Big rigs often go 500k up. Lotsa parts replaced on the way.

I wonder are they using 93 or 87 octane?

Nice! Tempe is home for me, I dig the pictures!
I parked my 99 right next to his in the parking garage of one of the casinos at SEMA 2 or 3 years ago... I didin't get to meet the owner, but I still have the pics!

Major cool!

I had Michelle Kwan the Olympic Skater (she is soooo tiny!) park next to me at the shopping center in Lake Arrowhead, she trained there. She got out and patted my dog Booboo on the head. She was very impressed...... getting to meet Booboo.Boo took it in stride, she is used to her fan club.
