Default Replaced starter now rod knocking

so I replaced my starter.

not to bad took my time with it, ohh I lied it f@&$:ng sucked.

all said and done put everything back together accordingly and made sure not to miss anything.

got it back together and it’s rod knocking.

Any idea?

We can't hear is so no do have an idea. How many miles? What year, if there was no knocking noise before the job then???? How do you know its a rod???

Most likely the injectors leaked and that is what you are hearing. I once fired my 1995 up just to move the car in and out of the garage. The next morning it sounded as if every main had failed. It was due to the old injectors leaking after the short run time. After a few minutes all that awful noise went away. I SWEAR I thought I killed the old 1UZFE but as we all know that is just about impossible!

That was many years ago and it is still fine at 269,000 miles...

it's rare to hear of rod knock on these motors so likely it's something else your are hearing.
as above I would also check your injectors to see if they are sealed properly. taking apart the intake mani does introduce lots of factors as things tend to break and tear such as injector seals.
