Trunk space in Lexus LS400 (2000) ?
Hello guys.
I'm not really old in this forum and wanted to say hello lately, especially because I'm probably at the verge of buying a nearly new LS400 of 2000. I literally fell for this car as I saw it on the streets and wanted it since them.
Now, I have an appointement with the seller in a semi-distant future. But there is a point that I'm puzzled with.
As a semi-pro musician, I often need to transport this kind of box with me :
Box
And I became curious to know if the trunk could eat such a thing. I have discovered, to my great shock, that the rear seats can't be folded on the LS400... what seems to me incredibly dumb in regard to the great amount of engineering that was done on this car. So I will be completely dependant of the space of the trunk, or the space of the backseats. Can somebody please confirm the dimensions of his trunk please ?
A Marshall box size is
- height : 32.68"
- width : 29.92"
- Depth : 14.17"
or : 760 x 830 x 360 mm in civilized metric system (trolling).

I drove a 2000 LS400 for almost 11 years. I think it is more complicated than just measuring the dimensions of the trunk because the rear wheel wells intrude on the trunk space. It would be best to "test fit" your amp into the trunk. I doubt that your amp will fit in the trunk since our four standard airline carry-on bags (9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches (22 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm) would barely fit when when stood on their sides and placed front to back. If your amp fits, it may be close and might require removing its casters.
I doubt that your amp will fit in the back seat area either even if you remove the seat cushion. The LS400 rear seat cushion is quite easy to remove. I removed the one in my 1990 LS400 many times in order to carry camping equipment and removed the one in my 2000 LS400 in order to run electrical cables.
By the way, the fuel tank is between the rear seat back and the trunk on all years of the LS400. The fuel tank was moved to underneath the rear seat cushion on the 2001 LS430 and the trunk of the LS430 is much larger than that of the LS400.
Maybe you need something like a Toyota Proace for carrying your amp. The lack of people and especially cargo space is why I no longer drive a Lexus sedan or own any sedans at all. Here's a photo of the cargo area of what I now drive - your amp would fit nicely in it.

Are your measurements to the bottom of the wheels? Those would be best.
I just looked at my 2000 and the only way I see this fitting in the trunk is if the word "Marshall" is facing up (or down) and the wheels toward the rear, but it's going to be close.
Also, eyeballed the rear seat as a possibility and I doubt it'll fit as the measurements are an inch or two too big. Take out the rear seat and you are good to go.

I say no. I measured mine. Technically, it exceeds the measurements, but the depth from the back wall to the trunk latch end is only 31 inches, which only leaves an inch to maneuver it in and out. I wouldn't want to try to get it out of there. The depth from the carpet to the rear shelf overhang is 19 inches. Wheel well to wheel well is around 44-45 inches.

That might be the better fit if you dont like vans/SUV's and want a nice sedan.I think Kansas is on to something for you.

Hello Gentlemans. Just to update with the latest infos. I tested the LS400 out yesterday. It's a wonderful car. Yes, the Marshall cab fits in, with comfort. The rolls arent exatyl at every corner and he fits fine.
I have now to decide if the 400 will be my next car.
