I have come across a 1995 ls400 with air suspension. The car is currently sitting on the ground. Engine runs well trans shifts. need little odds and ends. The cars is only $400. Noticed when the car turns on the suspension does not do anything. How can you tell if the air compressor is getting power? The light comes on on the the dash when you press the high button but nothing is happening. Any suggestions? I would probably convert it to standard strut spring suspension. Want to see if it could be something minor that won't engage the compressor first.

air suspension is a problematic issue with these cars and is not worth troubleshooting. it could be as small as a leak in the bags or even on the compressor itself.
if you still want to troubleshoot, start with the fuses first.

standard suspension is recommended and if the rest of the car is stellar, then I don't see why you shouldn't jump of the $400 deal.

As timmy says, forget the air suspension and get some real shocks. If everything else is clean and works then it should be a good buy.
