that red light usually comes on when there is some type of fault the display is trying to warn you about. Cycle through the messages and see what it says.

Your car set this light when has error message for you.

Press the mode or function button / located on the steering wheel right side. /
and the message will come up.

Like some "error message" or "brake pad wear"

You need to refill the screen washer fuild to disapear. The tank is located under the hood, in my 98LS400 on the right side near the battery.

But if the light remain that could prove that the sensor got wrong.
When I bought my car I had to replace it...

If you've refilled & the light remains on then most likely it's the floater. The floater has a sensor & a piece of foam. As the foam gets old, it absorbed water & sank to the bottom of the tank which then triggered a false error that you're low o fluid. You can either replace it w/ a new one for $20, $30 (kind of expensive for a piece of foam & very little functionality) or disconnect the sensor so it won't sent the telemetry signal to the computer. To do so, you'll have to remove the wheel liner then you'll see a connector at the bottom of the tank/reservoir. Just disconnect it then the light will go away.
