Help With Climate Control Seats
I have a ls430 with the climate controlled seats i notice when i use them i dont feel anything i changed the filters still nothing i dont know what to do i hope someone could help because i really like this option if it works please help.
I have never seen the LS430 seats in action, so I don't know if this would even make sense, but mabye you have to push the AUTO button for the climate control feature (for the reg. center vents, etc.) and that will make the climate controlled seats work. Just an idea, but its an idea coming from an owner of a 1992 SC300 so it may make no sense what-so-ever.
I'm havng the same problem with my 03 LS. The technician advises me that I should not expect much cooling because of mfr's concern for condensation. The heating aspect works fine. I just don't know if the cooling aspect works at all. Is there an explanation of Lexus's climate controlled seats on the web?

.. but tried MB S500's cooling seats. As the name implies, within 1-2 minutes after I switched it on, I felt the seat back + bottom cushion became cooler; nothing (no wind blows) out of the perforation though. I believe it should work the same in a Lexus. Just turn the **** to the left, I suppose ?
The seat coolers in the LS 430 are cooled by a thermoelectric device called a peltier. From my understanding it's a type of diode that when powered becomes either super cool or hot.
I had to remove one of these once, and it's quite simple. The Peltier is in the center of it and it's surround by a balanced squirrel cage type fan that is connected to a duct that is plumbed to the lower seat back, and lower seat bottom I think.
There should be two individual buttons on the center dash below the radio, ahead of the shifter. If the button has a constant red dashed line around it. Your LS doesn't have the cooled seat option. If the line is blue on one side and red on the other. Turn the left ****(drivers seat) to the blue section. You should feel some the seat cool if assuming your'e not wearing thick clothing. Also the fan speed isn't super high either ... you're not going to be able to feel it actually blowing cold air.

My experience and research agrees with the last post. A Lexus technician checked out the system today and found that it was operating within normal limits. But first he had to contact Lexus for the info that allowed him to test it. Apparently, to avoid condensation build up and the growth of fungi, Lexus does not allow a dramatic drop in temp nor, as the last post noted, a stiff breeze on your backsides that some might find to be uncomfortable. After faultridden BMW's (540 & X5), I'll have to continue on looking for my first defect in my LS.
