Ok,got the cleaning supplies online.Only way to shop, just I have to wait until Wednesday for delivery.Im no fan of Amazon in case you wonder. No walmart fan either but IMO the lesser of 2 evils, and I dont mind online shopping there, just the stores fry my brain.Grand total 45.53 said and done.

This will clean windows,Get dirt off seats.....I will finish up later when I decide what treatment Im doing there.
Shampoo carpets and prepare exterior paint for polishing.

Ebay-22 oz Spray Nine- 5.57

Walmart online
70% alcohol-3.00
OxiClean with Odor Blasters Versatile Stain & Odor Remover 3 lb Tub -$7.56
303 UV Protectant for Vinyl, Rubber, Plastic, Tires and Leather, 32 fl oz-13.68
Meguiars G1016 Smooth Surface Clay Kit-13.79

Thats not too shabby bang for the buck actually.

Hi spuds .... ha! just as I thought ! I kinda figured you would get a charge out of that YouTube channel. : ) You know, when I first found him only several months ago, his channel had about maybe 17,000 subscribers .... and now he has wayyyyyyy more ..... I do not think I have ever seen a channel grow as fast as his has .... anyways, he suggested using that 303 dressing ... I found it at O'Reilly's Auto Parts in the small town I live in .... I have been experimenting with it, and I have to say it really works nice. The 303 does indeed seem different than other products I have used over the years ...... nice stuff. Anyhow, glad you checked out the channel and liked it ....

Oh .... by the way ..... If you think of it, check out what he does with idler pulleys ... I just did his method on mine in my 95 LS today. It actually worked. I was lucky and caught mine before any serious damage took place ... ( the upper pulley was only at the stage of making a little noise when the engine is really cold at start-up ) but, yeah ... there is a wealth of knowledge that guy shares .... pretty cool .. .. .. . . .

Seems you're head strong into your Lexus now, along with your wife. That's excellent. Only question is what took you so long?
I do recommend the polish after the clay bar, but the clay bar is mandatory. I used a buffer with the polish and was impressed with the results.
Even if you don't use the polish, you'll need a good wax to protect the finish.
Funny, I've got the 303 for my other vehicles, but never used it on the Lexus'. Was not aware it was good for leather also.
Enjoy the journey.

I too am going to check out that youtube link. Thanks for that.

I'll be using finish first uv blocking polish, its good stuff.Only question is will I use the polish cleaner from them too(stuff is easy to use and great on oxidized paints FWIW),doubt I'll need it after clay.

Thanks Mike.
Hahaha, this thread has turned into the Mr and Mrs Spuds meets the LS400,read their life story here!

As you can see,Im a visual guy and add lots of pics to posts, and dont have ANY of the car yet, whats up with that?? Just want to get it nice and shiny first....so of course tonight we have a small snow storm, but it will be a pretty good ice event moving in,so its hibernation mode for a few days anyhow.

Today we took it to meet the nephew who was a car mechanic, now a warehouse mechanic for UPS.Another . I told you about the King of Hammers Jeep event where I met up with nephews and their buds, well one was considering Lexus for a used car, told him the Lexus story/history,will have a lot to fill him in on now.Ive become a Lexus fanboy, toooo funny,I NEVER saw this coming.

Essentially figure we live In Los Angeles Calif.Mrs had the San Diego trip planned for Tuesday, its pretty much to Mexico border, that because of ice might be doable Wednesday. She also wants to see nephew up in San Francisco area, looks like his 5 year battle with cancer is about over, she needs to see him.So Lexus is going to play a roll in this too.

Soooo, thats the latest.Let me say THANK YOU to all of you for welcoming us here, making this adventure possible, and for all the advice and kind thoughts and sharing in our adventure. You all are the BEST!

Everywhere I go somebody has to comment on the Jeep,or the VW,several times each time Im out.So I THOUGHT with the original gray man car,the grampa mobile, the Lexus, this would stop.

But NOOOOOOOO!!!! Minding my own business at Staters, waiting for Mrs this guy comes along, you know the drill.....

Looks like a pretty good deal to me. That’s less than most similar cars in my area.

Looks awfully familiar! This is a recent photo of my 99 I've had since 2010. It's a timeless body style in my opinion...

Is that here in the Valley or MI?

I'm shopping this work now and all my quotes are $650-$800 for labor and $1,300 for L&P(Aisin TB kit).

Thanks,

Eddie
