Default 1990 Ls400 timing belt or timing chain?

Hello new to the site, have a 1990 LS400. Does this car have timing belt or chain?

Hi. This would have been a very easy thing for you to google yourself. They all have belts.

welcome to the forum, there are 5 stickies at the top, why are they there?? it is so people like you can read up on your auto and be able to ask an intelligent question, instead of the one you just asked... spend a little time collecting info YOU need to know, ask questions and receive help in most areas.. and you will also be able to help others..

And usually if there is a bunch of plastic covers on the front of a auto engine its a belt. If its mostly all metal its usually a chain.

Another consideration is that the 90-94 cars did not have interference engines, so a failed T-belt is more of an inconvenience than a disaster / time-bomb.
