You need to tell us all of the story.
If you pop it into neutral and push the brake pedal to come to a stop does it still jerk? Then its likely the brake rotors are warped. We really need a better description of the problem.

I had an issue where it wouldn't pop up a code for the longest time but then after 10k miles P0770 finally showed up after it got worse.

I had a shuddering when coming to a stop. It ended up being my lock up solenoid for the transmission was not functioning and would drag the torque converter down and wouldn't unlock at low speeds, basically 10-0mph.

These solenoids are VERY pricy at $300 each if you stick to OEM Lexus which I intended on doing. I ended up trying a salvage yard one since I wanted to rule it as the cause before investing that amount of money, and my problem went away. I left it in there since my car was working fine after doing that solenoid, three drain and refills and then finally a transmission filter on the last drain and fill.

I have a feeling these transmissions are very sensitive to the proper type of fluid and keeping that Toyota T4 fluid fresh is important as well. I would say do a drain and fill (3qts) every 15-20k just to keep it relatively clean and to get the metallic particles removed from that magnetic drain plug as much as possible.

I think I know what you mean, and if so, it's quite normal. When the AC compressor engages, the ECU raises the engine RPM slightly, so if you're slowing to a stop and the AC cuts in or out as part of its normal cycle, then you will feel a jolt as the RPM changes. Plus, a difference in braking effort at the same time.

Is this what you're talking about?

i'm having that issue right now with my 97 ls400. i recently posted a question about disabling the lockup solenoid by disconnecting it electrically (breaking the circuit) and whether or not it will cause the ecu to throw a code or not. be a while before i start getting answers.
