Default Headlights

Hello everyone. What are the brightest quality headlight bulbs I can install on my '96 LS400? Already searched but the answers in previous posts are all over the place. Just want to know which is the best for my model year as I now commute before sunrise and after sunset in some very poorly lit areas and we all know the headlights aren't the greatest.

I upgraded to LED bulbs, they're good for where I'm at in the suburbs of Michigan with no street lights. It doesn't seem to blind other drivers that much either, I usually only get flashed once a week probably by some old person.

I'm an old person and when a high tech headlight blinds me I hit the aftermarket horns and really give them a jolt.

Looking for cheap H4 upgrade? Get Philips Racing Vision H4/55W lamps and 921/16W bulbs for the corner lights.

I have the DEPO clear glass headlights though, so they may be slightly different than the stock fluted glass headlights

HID 8K on right and LED on Left

sI just installed the Sirius X2 LED headlights. The light is great on low beam but the high beam does not project up and out like the HID bulbs do. Do your high beams project normally after the install?

I noticed that too which is why I left my halogen high beams in for safety. Remember, the 95-97 models use two bulbs when the high beams are activated, the H4 and the 9005. It seems like the Sirius LED bulbs use two chips for the low beam and only 1 for the high, but it's placed in a different spot then the traditional 9005 bulb dedicated for the high beam in normal use so that's why you don't get the proper light dispersal when the LED high beam is triggered.

It looks a bit off, but since I drive around with the LED low beams exclusively, I don't mind having the 9005 halogen bulb still in place for the high beam.

One way to solve that would be to get a 9005 LED bulb and see if it disperses the light as it should. But to me, $50 additional for something I'd never really use isn't worth it. The LED H4 Hi/Lo works well enough combined with the 9005 stock supplemental Hi.
