Question Hose Placement for EGR Valve on 95 LS

Yesterday I removed my EGR valve to clean. Afterwards, I was not sure which vaccum line went where. On the back right hand side of the EGR there are two lines. I think the top one is a fuel line and the bottom line comes off the engine. Is this correct?
After cleaning my car that was starting just fine will not start. I must have screwed up something in the cleaning process. I am thinking of just replacing EGR solenoid and solenoid switch. anyone have any suggestions?

how did you clean your engine? water? the plugs set in a "hole". see if they are setting in water, blow it out and spray with WD 40 HEAVY, and try to start it, WD40 displaces water.. completely ..

Default Cleaned EGR Valve

Thanks for your response. I removed the EGR valve and used Carb cleaner to soak and scrub carbon billup inside. I then replaced the EGR. I did not use water for anything. I was also not sure where each of the back hoses on the back right hand side of the EGR went.

Thanks for the pictures. I now have hoses on correctly and started car today and drove. The car smoked a whole lot when I finally started it and continued to smoke as I drove it. I am still burning a whole lot of gas. Before all of this I drove the car about 46 miles and watched my gas gauge go from one half to on quarter tank. Something is bad wrong. I have a new EGR valve on the way. I wanted to try this first and then proceed to the solenoid, and possibly the switch. Is there any other things to check that could cause the car to burn so much fuel? I am open to suggestions.
Also. I wanted to mention the car is driveable and at times it seems to be running just fine. It will hesitate at little as if missing. Sometimes when I slow down and speed up it wants to hesitate a little but then accelerates Ok.
Again, if you have suggestions let me know.

the LS400 I took photos of was running so rich it went into the limp mode, pulled ECM out opened it up and the cap's were leaking, had them replaced and it runs good now.. YOU might want to look at yours
