Default New radio back light issue

So I have made a post here before about my radio backlight not working. I did get it fixed more info is in this post here (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...ight-up-2.html)

However, I see a new issue has occurred. So when my headlights are off my radio screen lights up bright so I know the backlight is working. However, when my headlights turn on my display will go black or super dim. After about 1-5 minutes the display will slowly light up again from dim to bright. Does anyone know why my radio is doing this?

Thanks

What happens if the rheostat is turned when the display is super dark?
I worry that the MPX body computer has some problem.

Am I assuming you are talking about the dimmer ***? I just decided to make a video on it since it is easier to show it than explain it :P

Here is the vid (
)

So when I turn the radio off with the headlights on the backlight buttons will turn on. Once I turn the radio on everything turns black again. After a while of driving, the backlight slowly returns and then becomes bright again but that can range from a 1min-10min.

Ok so now this got interesting. So I decided to hit the radio a bit and the light flickered. Then I decided to hit the middle carpet area near the dash (Not going to hit the dash lol) and the light got brighter until it remained at max brightness.

Anyone have an idea on whats going on?

I will post a video of it soon.

most likely there are some cold solder joints that have cracked and causing intermittent connections causing the odd behavior.

cold solder joints for the backlighting? I remember seeing this a while back, (not this post) and someone said the same thing . How hard would that be to fix?

Solder joints were fixed. I am now starting to wonder if it was my old dash cam causing the issue. I replaced it with the A119S (not happy with it so probably will return it lol) and the next day my radio light is working. Will post an update if I see the issue again.

Might be a broken PCB board.

Would be a bit shocked if the board broke. Pioneer is not known to make faulty products. Everything worked fine before and it would be odd if it needs to be re-solder the resistors since I did that a half a year ago. I personally am not the best at soldering and made someone re-solder them. If the thing dies I guess I will buy a new pioneer unit with a touchscreen and XM or try this one again from a junkyard (Unless Lexus still sells new ones).
