Seal around exterior door handles worn out
There is a thin (rubber?) seal going around the handle assembly on the exterior that is lightening and cracking. Anyone know where to buy these seals or what a good substitute would be to replace them? 1997 LS400

I figured they were made of plastic. But I never saw one when they were new. They are held in place on little posts cast into the door handle frame. If you really wanted to change these I would source them from a junkyard. It goes without saying that you'll need to remove the door handle(s) to replace said plastic surround.

I want to replace them for aesthetic reasons, they really stand out because I have a black LS and I assume anything I find at the junkyard is going to look just as bad. I guess I'll just have to cut my own out of a blank sheet......

I wouldn't recommend that. That little piece of plastic is precisely formed. It's just a flat piece of plastic.
