Default 1990-1994 ls400 nakamichi

I acquired a 1992 Nakamichi Radio 86120-50080 for the 1993 LS400...which has factory Pioneer system.

On information this Nakamichi radio was used on 1990-1994 LS400.

It appears the wiring harness, amplifier and speakers are unique to the Nakamichi system so will require those items from the donor car as well.

While the radio is the same, not sure if the wiring is the same for 1992 and 1993 LS400

That could be quite an undertaking.

Has anyone accomplished this swap? ((Not interested to hear why I am doing this...)

If the project proves too onerous, perhaps I will part with the radio

I understand parts are hard to come by...

On the gen 1's I think the amplifier is all internal in the head unit. But there is the amp for the subwoofer in the trunk is that what you were talking about?
The systems are so similar its hard to believe they went to the trouble of making this different to connect them.

I have a 1998 and hoped that I could just do the same thing as above, but I think my wiring harness is slightly different.
Has anyone done this on a 1998 with a Pioneer system?
I can't seem to find the wire that ignites the amp (the pink/blue one).
I've found the constant power, ignition power and ground, so the Sony turns on and plays and I've also manages to connect RCAs to the harness' 4 speaker wires, but still no sound.

I found a picture online of the two plugs I have in the back of my HU, with the same amount of wires going into them.

Any help in connecting a modern Sony with a pretty standard ISO is MUCH appreciated.

.

I hope this thread is still been seen :-D

I have a 98 with a Nak. The Pioneer in my 97 is just as good, the Nak is more of a coolness factor.

Default Wiring messed up

I have read through these forums for hours and can’t seem to find the right thing. I have a 98 ls400 with the Kex-m9076zt pioneer head unit from factory. I messed up the pin assignment on the male plug and can’t find any videos or accurate pictures to correct my issue
this was posted last year and is helpful in reassigning, but not I don’t know which color wire is to which feature.
please help!!

You will have a challenging time. The plugs are different, the wiring is different, the amp is remote on the Nakamichi, but not on the Pioneer, and even the antenna drive wiring is different, as is the remote CD unit and the speaker magnets on the Nakamichi speakers are robust. Do you have a factory service manual?

(if you have a complete Nakamichi system that you decide to pass on installing, let me know.
