Post LCD or non-LCD dash for 1997-1999

While deciding to import a JDM-spec Lexus LS400 (Toyota Celsior, first generation, 1997-1999 model year), I'm faced with a dilemma: should I opt for the dash with the LCD-screen for climate-control or the all-button, no LCD dash.

I've heard the LCD can be slow to respond, and may stop functioning overtime, which are my only two concerns. I'm not concerned about the Japanese text nor about the non-operative GPS. I also like the clean, all-button dash. I just can't decide!

Pictures attached.

aside from the gizmo factor the "nav" versions are completely hopeless. They were slow when new, haven't aged well, yours won't even have maps for North America, and when it breaks you'll have a fun time trying to find a RHD radio/climate control.

buy a non-nav car.
